“ Sun in My Belly is a wonderful neighborhood staple. Located in the historic Bailey's Hardware building, the restaurant is so charming and cute. We went on a busy Sunday around 12:30, without a reservation, and were seated almost right away. The restaurant has a parking lot and we were able to find parking fairly quickly. The staff was super sweet, and if you go, you HAVE to try the lavender biscuits--they're a must! My husband got the regular biscuits and ended up finishing 1/2 of the lavender biscuit lol. I got the belly hash, consisting of a delicious combination of sweet potato hash topped with two sunny-side-up eggs, savory bacon jam, and tangy pickled jalapeños. It was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors which is exactly my flavor palette. The food is SOLID and did I mention the customer service is amazing? It goes a long way for me. I can't wait to go back! ”
“ I was stunned by the dimly lit ambiance, giving you a sense of whimsical wonder. The industrial styled setting and aesthetics opened up the space to fill with its wooden array of chairs and tables. The store front welcomes you with the pastries and baked goods window views and there is indoor and outdoor seating. I went with the hashed potatoes , bedded with spinach and eggs with a sauce that was sweet and savory; the candied bacon to top was DELICIOUS! I was surprised with the sweet potatoes styled hash, it was rich with flavor and sweet combination to the usual taste of offered breakfast- I rather enjoyed the spin to the mix. So I am one who values quantity with quality and the price for a latte and entree is about $30 ; the size offered for coffee was to my opinion a big stretch to compare for the value . Cute location, staff busy and moving around but nothing really wow for me. ”
“ Sun in My Belly is a cute little spot for brunch. The space is not that large inside and it can get busy during peak hours. I got the Scrambled Egg Panini with Hashed Potatoes on the side. I thought that the panini was good, but not amazing. The potatoes were also not seasoned enough for me. However, I really loved the Fried Green Tomatoes as it was topped with pimento cheese and smoked paprika, which really added to the flavor! I would come back here and try other options on their brunch menu. ”
